TEHRAN - Ali Shamkhani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, has said that the police should boost power to provide a long-lasting security.

He made the remarks during a meeting with commanders of the police force in Tehran on Sunday.
He also stated that “change in nature of threats” has made it necessary for the police force to review its strategies and mechanisms.

Elsewhere in his remarks, shamkhani said Takfiris have been making serious efforts to undermine security in Iran but due to political and social stability and also the vigilance and power of “defense and security bodies”, their plots have failed, the former defense minister explained.
